March 13, 2011 – Japan Meteorological Agency says there is a 70% likelihood of a strong quake in the next three days. This prediction is based on increased tectonic activity.
As you probably already know, today a powerful earthquake struck northern Japan about 4 hours ago, at about 2:45 pm local time. Magnitude 8.9. Here in Tokyo actually we felt two strong quakes, followed by several aftershocks. The news say this is apparently the 5th strongest quake in Japan since 1900. About 4 million people are without electricity in Tokyo, according to the reports.
As I’m writing this, we can still feel aftershocks.
