Katakana Chart with Vocal Pronounciation
Katakana is used for writing foreign words, various sounds, foreign names and some Japanese words. You need Flash installed in your browser to view our Katakana chart. By clicking on each character, you will hear Japanese pronounciation. You can also practice memorizing the characters by hiding the Romaji letters (click on Show/Hide Romaji at the bottom). The best way to learn the whole Hiragana alphabet is to memorize the characters by columns from top to bottom. For example, start with A, I, U, E, O, then continue with KA, KI, KU, KE, KO and so on.
